Gun Recovered, Two In Custody After Shots Fired Near Police In Bridgeport

Two men are under arrest after one shot at a Bridgeport Police officer who attempted to break-up a dispute, according to Bridgeport Police.

The incident took place around 10 a.m. Wednesday when two Bridgeport police officers were on a road job when one of the officers was shot at when he approached two men in a dispute near Jane Street and Kossuth Street, according to Av Harris, spokesman for the police department.

The officer was not hit and no one was injured, and a gun was recovered at the scene, Harris said.

Following the shooting, a brief pursuit ensued as police turned out in force to track down the two men, who were captured and are currently being questioned and booked, police said.
